1971
Frank
Hauck began a small fabrication business within the confines
of his own garage at his home in Royton.
1972
Frank
was joined by his brother John and together they moved
the business to the basement, of 'Napier Mill' on Ellen
Street, Oldham. Later accompanied by his youngest son,
Karl, they began to slowly expand the business, taking
on larger projects, along with the small metal fabrications
they were used to. The first major installation being
a pair of sliding doors, for the boiler house at the Royal
Oldham Hospital, built in 1974 and still in use today.
1977
The
company became limited trading under its new name 'F &
J Hauck Ltd'. With its increasing number of employees
out grew the former premises and moved to its present
location at Linney Lane, Shaw. Not long after the move
his eldest son, Franz, joined the family business. Then
throughout the late 70's and 80's the company became a
major supplier of fabricated components, mainly for the
commercial vehicle market, but also during this period,
the company became involved in balustrade work, for the
construction industry.
1990+
The business
continued to expand during the 90's, it slowly moved away
from the commercial vehicle market and whilst continuing
work in general fabrications, began undertaking more projects
in architectural metalwork. With further demands being
made on specialist balustrade work, the company commenced
fabricating in other metals, such as stainless steel,
brass and aluminum.
